On our shooting day we didn't quite stick too these shots exactly, we altered them slightly and added a few different ones that we though would work well together and overall make a better music video.

A stereotypical music channel & music magazine for our artist

Some typical music channels that would play Sophie pentecost's genre of music would be 4 music, Smash hits and Mtv. The reason that the three listed are likely to play Sophie Pentecosts style music is because they all play a range of styles and genre of music, from the likes of Alexandra Burke to the Kings of Leon. Other Powepop artists such as : Mariah Carey and Leona Lewis tend to be played on various mainstream music channels.
It is hard trying to find a music magazine that specialises in Powepop music. The main music magazine people hear about is Kerrang. On the whole music magazines have a tendency to be more 'rock' based. Afer looking I found a few music magazines that are well known that specialise in 'Powepop' style music.
Music Box: a magazine that reviews a range of music and interview a wide spread group of artists/bands, this is the kind of magazine you would expect to see Sophie Pentecost in.
After having a look at music magazines i can see that their is a widespread range of music magazines available, some specifically aimed at one certain genre of music, whereas others may overlap two or more genres ie: Pop and Rock.

Music channels you would not expect to hear Sophie Pentecoste being played on would be the likes of Kerrang and Scuzz, these music channels are known for being stereotypically 'Indie'/'Emo' style music. Whereas In contrast to this Channel AKA, which was formally known as Channel U is stereotyped as more 'Chavy' and therefore you wouldn't expect to find Sophie Pentecost on their either, the inbetween channels are the likes of '4 music' and the 'MTV channels', which tend to play a variety or music and therefore this is where Sophie Pentecost would fit in. The age contrast in the music channels is also apparent, with music channels such as Magic being mainly aimed at older people whereas channels like Kiss are aimed at teenagers and young adults. Powerpop music appeals to a range of ages, from young teens right the way through to older people. Although probably both sexes listen to powepop, the female audience is probably more dominant as girls happen to have a tendancy to be more into balad style music.

The purpose of our questionnaire

The purpose of our questionnaire was too get a jist of what the audience want. By asking them questions such as: what they expect of promotional material, we mainly took notice of the questionnaire results that said they were into powerpop, because they are more likely to give us a clear idea of what is expected of powerpop video's and promotional material.

The results we gathered are as follows:

Song analysis

Sophie Pentecost- Strong Enough

1st Verse
She’s left home alone
she is not with her family,
has no one to turn to
Still laid out on the floor
she is on the floor by herself
What were the words that he told her that she was?
he said something cruel to her
The bruises on her arm are just a scratch today
First verse giving an idea of the abuse she is suffering ie: he's verbally and physically abusive to her. and the first part shows how she copes with the pain.

Chorus
She is
not strong enough x3
To get through today
Not strong enough
Not old enough
Not wise enough to just walk away
she doesnt have the strength within herself to be able to get away from him, his abusive behavior had obviously sapped away all the willpower and inner strength she had.

2nd Verse
Now she’s alone,
the tears roll down her cheeks
she’s sad and lonely Her hands are still shaking from shielding her face
Suddenly all alone when she needs someone the most
Then the voice inside her head softly calls her name And says
She's in a state from a post attack and from nowhere shes suddenly got this strength too leave him and be free of the torture he putsd open her.

Chorus
Your strong enough (x3)
To get through today
You’re strong enough
You’re old enough
You’re wise enough To just walk away
Its like her inner strength is talking too her and telling her that she does have the power inside her to leave him.

3rd Verse
Seven years of torture
And its time to fly away
Like a bird, you spread your wings And fly your life away
You do it by
Singing (x3) Your life away
Seven years being mentioned emphasises how long the abuse has being going on, and this explains her lack of strength at the begining of the song, by 'singing her life away' it shows that she is getting freedom through singing.

Song Lyrics-

We emailed Sophie asking her for the mp3 version of 'fix you', but she said that she doesn't own the copyright for it. So it was best if we choose another song, she offered us another song she had wrote herself called 'Strong enough' and she sent us the mp3 version of that.

This was our original song choice however, we we're not able to use it in the end because Sophie did not have copyright rights. But she did offer us another original song called 'Strong Enough'
