A stereotypical music channel & music magazine for our artist

Some typical music channels that would play Sophie pentecost's genre of music would be 4 music, Smash hits and Mtv. The reason that the three listed are likely to play Sophie Pentecosts style music is because they all play a range of styles and genre of music, from the likes of Alexandra Burke to the Kings of Leon. Other Powepop artists such as : Mariah Carey and Leona Lewis tend to be played on various mainstream music channels.
It is hard trying to find a music magazine that specialises in Powepop music. The main music magazine people hear about is Kerrang. On the whole music magazines have a tendency to be more 'rock' based. Afer looking I found a few music magazines that are well known that specialise in 'Powepop' style music.
Music Box: a magazine that reviews a range of music and interview a wide spread group of artists/bands, this is the kind of magazine you would expect to see Sophie Pentecost in.
After having a look at music magazines i can see that their is a widespread range of music magazines available, some specifically aimed at one certain genre of music, whereas others may overlap two or more genres ie: Pop and Rock.

Music channels you would not expect to hear Sophie Pentecoste being played on would be the likes of Kerrang and Scuzz, these music channels are known for being stereotypically 'Indie'/'Emo' style music. Whereas In contrast to this Channel AKA, which was formally known as Channel U is stereotyped as more 'Chavy' and therefore you wouldn't expect to find Sophie Pentecost on their either, the inbetween channels are the likes of '4 music' and the 'MTV channels', which tend to play a variety or music and therefore this is where Sophie Pentecost would fit in. The age contrast in the music channels is also apparent, with music channels such as Magic being mainly aimed at older people whereas channels like Kiss are aimed at teenagers and young adults. Powerpop music appeals to a range of ages, from young teens right the way through to older people. Although probably both sexes listen to powepop, the female audience is probably more dominant as girls happen to have a tendancy to be more into balad style music.
