Powepop Audience

Powerpop is usually more aimed at the female market rather than male. although some men do still listen to Powerpop music. Their isn't really a specific age range for the Powerpop genre, the age group tends to go straight through from early teens right the way to older people. Powepop music appeals too quite a large audience, probably more than a genre like 'Rock' or 'Chav' music, as these two are quite specific to their genre, whereas Powerpop is quite free within its genre. Some typical Powerpop artists are as follows: 'Leona Lewis', 'Mariah Carey' and 'Alesha Dixon'. On the whole Powerpop artists tend to be solo acts rather than groups, and the artists themselves tend to be female rather than male. Powerpop is not very well known as a genre, however it is on the increase.
